fast and furious Dodge Charger RT

Dodge Charger R/T

Okay, this is definitely not a Japanese sports car, but it is definitely one of the coolest vehicles in the whole series. The car gets destroyed in the first movie and makes reappearance in the fifth, whereby it is destroyed again. The car is based on a 19070’s classic and has been race tuned to about 900 brake horsepower. It shows a clear contrast between the much smaller modern cars that the film seems to focus on. As well as a vulgar beauty, the charger reminds us that some of the best cars were made in the U.S.A.

fast and furious toyota supra

Toyota Supra – 1994

This was the car that the undercover cop, played by Paul Walker, used for his race against Vin Diesel’s character in the first film. It uses a Twin Turbo 2JZ-GTE engine fitted with a Stage 3 T4 turbo. The car was won by Diesel’s Dominic Toretto in the race with Walker’s Brian O’ Conner. The engine is retuned and remapped up to a very sweet 544 brake horsepower. The sales of Mark 4 Supras was said to skyrocket after the first movie was release. The power plant is extremely tough and very easy to tune, as are most modern Japanese sports car units.

fast and furious Nissan Skyline

Nissan Skyline GT-R

The Skyline is probably the most popular of all Asian sports cars, there are many models to choose form and they come with a variety of tuning modification possibilities. The 1999 GT-R used in the F&F series features an inline 6 cylinder block with massive tuning potential. The RB26DETT engine can be tuned to over 1000 brake horse power if you have the time and the budget for this project. It comes in an all-wheel drive format and sticks to the race track like it is on rails. The somewhat bland body styling can be enhanced using one of the many aftermarket styling houses that exist all over the U.S.A.

Mazda RX 7

Mazda RX-7

Another Japanese motorsport icon, the Mazda features in the opening scenes of the first F&F movie. The car itself features the famous Wankel engine that produces a huge amount of power for an engine that is classes as only 1.146 liters in size! The original version features the classic pop-up headlamps and comes in a 2 or 4 seat configuration option. The engine is hugely tuneable, but can be fragile if the proper care is not taken.
